rectangular green tourmaline and 22k gold ring, size 6.75

This ring was handmade by me in my studio.
It features a light green, faceted tourmaline , set in 22k gold on a layered, gold embellished sterling silver backplate. The band is lightly textured, has a substantial width and gives this ring a solid feel. The design is not symmetrical but purposefully skewed to give this piece a somewhat archaic, earthy feel. Combining the light airy sparkle of the stone with this rustic design adds a certain tension that I find interesting and very appealing.
