Smoky brown spinel ring

This unique ring was handmade by me in my studio.

The design of this ring was guided by the stone. A large, beautifully cut, smokey brown spinel with warm chocolate undertones is the focal element of this piece. I set it in fine silver on a backplate with a textured edge. The sterling silver double band completes the look, gives this ring a stable base and makes it very comfortable to wear. The silver was oxidised to accentuate the rich interplay of the textured surfaces .
