blue sapphire and 22k gold post earrings

These sapphire post earrings were handmade by me in my studio. Beautiful, deep blue, rose cut, semi-opaque sapphires were set in 22k gold and mounted on a layered sterling silver backdrop, embellished with 22k gold dots. As most of my earrings, these aren’t completely symmetrical but they speak the same language and together they create a beautiful dialogue. The earrings were oxidised to accentuate the layered contours and then polished to a satin sheen. The sterling silver posts are fastened with sterling silver butterfly closures to ensure a secure fit.
