Asymmetrical pink tourmaline and 218K gold earrings

These earrings were handmade by me in my studio

Two rectangular, deep pink tourmalines were set in 22k gold on textured sterling silver backplates and linked to oval shields layered with solid 22k gold. The sterling silver was oxidized to enhance the contrasting patterns, the gold has a richly textured surface. The earrings are fastened with sterling silver posts and butterfly friction closures.
