Raw molten silver post earrings

This unique set of sterling silver post earrings was created by melting sterling silver on a charcoal block and forging it with a blacksmith hammer while still red hot. During this process the solidifying silver was imprinted with the texture of the charcoal surface. The resulting shapes where lightly filed and carved to remove all sharp edges. Sterling silver posts were solder on, the earrings are fastened with a sterling silver butterfly closure. The surface was polished to a soft, satin finish. These earrings are easy to wear, and add something unusual and surprising to an everyday look (I can tell as I made a pair for myself :-) )
